Fall Markets, Fairs, & Festivals on Indy's South Side

Something that Indy's south side does an amazing job at is having a bunch of markets, fairs, and festivals throughout the year. Most of these events listed below will be one or two day events happening around Indy's southern suburbs.

Shelbyville Brewfest


When: Sept 22, 2023

Time: 5:30-10pm.

Where: Shelbyville Public Square


Fun for the whole family! Free live music, Free kid-zone inflatables, Food trucks, and Biergarten for adults! You can get tickets here!


A Bit of Wimsy Fall Market


When: Sep 23 , 2023

Time: 9:00 am - 3:00 pm

Where: Boys & Girls Club, 101 Hurricane St. Franklin, Indiana 46131

This fall market features vendors selling home decor, t shirts, seasonal crafts, florals and wreaths, glass art, soaps and lotions, jewelry, signs, pumpkins, baked goods, kettle corn and so much more. There will also be a food truck serving lunch.


Highlander Festival


When: Sep 23 - 24, 2023

Time: 10:00 am - 4:00 pm

Where: The Apple Works, 8157 S. 250 West Trafalgar, Indiana 46181

Enjoy music from Highland Reign, artisans, food, kids activities, and more. This event is 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday!


Nineveh Community Day


When: Sep 23 , 2023

Time: 2:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Where: Princes Lakes Town Hall, 14 E. Lakeview Dr. Nineveh, Indiana 46164

This event features food trucks, vendors, bounce house, silent auction, historical displays and a showing of Hoosiers at dusk. There will also be a pet parade. This event celebrates Nineveh’s bicentennial this Fall!


Franklin Fall Festival


When: Sep 30 , 2023

Time: 10:00 am - 10:00 pm

Where: Franklin Amphitheater, 237 W. Monroe St. Franklin, Indiana 46131

The schedule for the day includes Rock Around the Block at 8 a.m. and Moyra’s Mile of Dance at 9 a.m., both at the skate park. There is entertainment on the stage from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and vendor booths and kid’s activities from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Food trucks serve from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. and the beer and wine garden is open noon to 10 p.m. Heritage Day will happen at Johnson County Museum from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.


* The parade goes south on Walnut Street, east on Jefferson Street, and south on Home Avenue starting at 1 p.m. The dachshund derby is at 2:45 p.m. at Province Park. There is live music on stage at 5 and 7 p.m. Fireworks are at 9:30 p.m.


Craft Fair & Bake Sale


When: Oct 7 , 2023

Time: 9:00 am - 3:00 pm

Where: Providence Christian Church, 4080 W. 100 N. Bargersville, Indiana 46106

This craft fair and bake sale features home decor, wooden crafts, jewelry, floral designs, wreaths, books, clothing, lotions and more for purchase.


Scarecrow Fest


When: Oct 7 , 2023

Time: 10:00 am - 6:00 pm

Where: Dollie's Farm, 3961 N. 425 East Franklin, Indiana 46131

Enjoy a corn maze, scarecrow contests, pumpkin bowling, pumpkin golf, huge pumpkins tic tac toe, corn plunko, human hamster wheel, antique tractors on parade, hayrides, pumpkin chucking, corn crib scavenger dig, and more. There will also be live music, food and drinks. Pumpkins and mums will be available for purchase.



Fall Vintage Fest

When: Oct 7 , 2023

Time: 10:00 am - 5:00 pm

Where: Downtown Franklin, 66 S. Water St. Franklin, Indiana 46131

Head on over to downtown Franklin for the Franklin Fall Vintage Festival, featuring a downtown street fair and more than 100 vintage item dealers from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. There will also be live music and food trucks.

Also in downtown Franklin on Oct. 7 will be Ethos Celebration of the Arts. Admire art of all varieties, a chalk the walk event, a juried art fair, a display of artistic cars and more.


Harvest Weekend at Mallow Run

When: Oct 7 , 2023

Time: 12:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Where: Mallow Run Winery, 6964 W. Whiteland Road Bargersville, Indiana 46106

Celebrate the season with food trucks, wine, live music, fall fun and local vendors on the lawn. Mallow Run Winery is open from noon to 6 on Saturday and Sunday.

Aberdeen Harvest Festival

Time: 12:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Where: Aberdeen Community, 3808 Farmway Dr. Bargersville, Indiana 46106

This public event features free hayrides and pony rides, a chance to climb the hay mountain, and live music. There will also be a vendor market, and a free fun zone with an inflatable corn maze and lawn games. Pumpkins, caramel apples and food from food trucks will be available for purchase.


Monster Mash


When: Oct 20 , 2023

Time: 5:30 pm - 8:00 pm

Where: Craig Park, 10 E. Smith Valley Road Greenwood, Indiana 46143

Grab your costumes and join in on the activities at Greenwood Parks Annual Halloween Party. Activities include trick-or-treating, music, food, and hay rides.


Pumpkin Fest

When: Oct 21 , 2023

Time: 10:00 am - 4:00 pm

Where: Farm Girl Mercantile, 436 E. Jefferson St. Franklin, Indiana 46131

Head over to Farm Girl Mercantile for hundreds of pumpkins, gourds, mums, corn stalks, outside vendors, and live music. There will also be a cool area with Fall decor for fun photos!


Hoosier Fall Festival

When: Oct 21 - 22, 2023

Time: 11:00 am - 5:00 pm

Where: Johnson County Fairgrounds, 250 Fairground St. Franklin, Indiana 46131

Enjoy live entertainment, kids activities, vendors and more during this two-day festival! Admission is FREE.



Trunk or Treat

When: Oct 21, 2023

Time: 12:00-3:00pm


Where: East and West Washington Streets Shelbyville, IN.


5th annual Trunk or Treat in the Shelbyville Public Square. Dress up in your favorite costume and get some fun treats!


Trunk or Treat

When: Oct 27 , 2023

Time: 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Where: Town Hall, 24 N. Main St. Bargersville, Indiana 46106

Families are invited to dress up in costumes and see decorated car trunks and get lots of candy for the kids. Local businesses and organizations will be passing out candy from their decorated vehicles. Free admission.


Franklin Halloween Town

When: Oct 28 , 2023

Time: 3:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Where: Downtown Franklin, 237 W. Monroe St. Franklin, Indiana 46131

Enjoy a whole day of fun, starting with the Halloween Hustle 5K run/walk and 1-mile family walk at 9 a.m., followed by food vendors and activities from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.. From 5 to 7 p.m., come to downtown Franklin for trick or treating from stores (and along North Main Street for trick or treating from trunks). Vehicles will be set up and kids will be able to collect treats from decorated trunks and trucks. The Artcraft Theatre, which is at the same location as the trick or treating, has some spooky offerings. Check the website link to confirm times and activities.


Greenwood Halloween Parade

When: Oct 28 , 2023

Time: 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm

Where: Downtown Greenwood Greenwood, Indiana 46142

Celebrate Halloween with a festive parade throughout downtown Greenwood. The parade will start at Craig Park, go west on Main Street, go south on Madison Avenue, go back east on Surina Way and end back in Craig Park. People are encouraged to dress in costume and line the parade route to get candy.
